Water Jet Cutting

Waterjet cutting, 1/2" Aluminum

We are West Michigan's oldest water jet cutting facility. Put us to the test, we have even cut 14" thick Titanium. We have the knowledge and understanding to cut your project to print, on-time, and as quoted. Our special knowledge gives us the ability to build special fixtures when necessary so we can cut even the most complex parts. Water jet cutting is cost-effective for prototype cuts or large production runs and we have the capabilities to complete your project. Having multiple tables gives us the flexibility to meet your schedule, no more waiting weeks to get your parts.

How does water cut?

Water jet cutting uses a focused stream of high pressure water to cut or grind away the material in its CNC controlled path. To cut harder and thicker materials we add in an abrasive to help facilitate the cutting process. You get Grand Canyon results without the wait!

Abrasive Water Jet

Abrasive Water Jet Cutting

A wide variety of materials and superior edge quality are what set abrasive water jet cutting above the rest. We also have the ability to cut with two heads simultaneously given you twice the parts in the same cycle time. Aluminum, copper, brass, tool steel, stainless steel, and titanium are no problem for our abrasive water jet cutting systems.

Thick material?

19" Cobalt before and after waterjet cutting.

Not a problem. We have cut 14" thick Titanium and 19" thick Cobalt., Give us a call and put us to the test.

The best part!

Water jet cutting leaves no heat affected zone. Your material stays as it should, with no metallurgical changes. That means your parts come off the water jet ready for welding or any secondary machining.

Even better!

By adjusting our cutting speed the water jet produces varying finished edge qualities 1 - 5. This lets you decide how much secondary machining will be required. Better yet, let our water jet do all the work for you and order a clean cut leaving a smooth, burr free edge while holding tight tolerances.

Save on material too!

With only a .040" cut path and our tight nests we can help reduce your material costs as well.

Pure Water Jet

.007" Stream of Water Cutting Foam

Highly accurate (+/- .005) and with only a .007" cut path width, pure water cutting has what it takes to affordably cut your paper, Formica, foam, felt, laminate, or gasket material. Tight angles, sharp corners, and intricate shapes, if you can draw it in 2D, we can cut it. Using only a high pressure stream of water! Call us to find out more!

The Advantages of a Water Jet:

  • Diversity of material
  • Thickness of Material
  • Ability to cut intricate shapes and designs.
  • No heat affected zone. Water cutting does not change the metallurgical composition of the material as it cuts because it does not add any heat to the material leaving your parts ready to machine or weld.
  • Finished edge quality attainable that requires no secondary machining.
  • Parts can be nested closely together for maximum material yield.
  • Rapid Prototyping
  • Low hourly rates
